cultural, tribal and religious crises. Highly pronounced are the different shades of terrorism being
perpetuated across the country that have resulted in massive killings and destruction of lives and

numerous faces and masks which is why the President Buharis administration ranked security as
a major priority. The country has also witnessed several counter-terrorist strategies by past and
present leaders but with the high spike in terrorist activities till date, it would be safe to say that
the governments strategy to counter terrorism has appear ineffective. It is on this premise that

menace.Keywords: terrorism, counter-terrorism, Nigerian space,dialectical materrialism, false
