Title:   ELECTORAL VIOLENCE IN FIVE SOUTH EASTERN AREAS OF NIGERIA, 1999-2015

Abstract
Elections are the legally instituted framework and platforms by which political representatives are
chosen by the electorates in every society. This research is particularly examining elections in five
Igbo States of Nigeria, 1999-2015, and specifically electoral violence in this geopolitical zone. The
manner of conduct, parties, malpractices and problems of elections in Igboland are highlighted in
this discourse. This article uses qualitative research methodology in analyzing the information
here. That is, the researcher has used purely narrative technique which includes both primary and
secondary materials in this research.Keywords: election, violence, electoral malpractices, political parties, etc.
